Good Pub Guide Recommended

Particularly well run inn, nicely old-fashioned bar, good mix of customers, real ales and imaginative food; comfortable bedrooms
They've cleverly struck a balance between village pub and first-class restaurant in this 16th-c inn – and you can be sure of a genuinely warm welcome from the hard-working licensees, too. The comfortable bar has horsebrasses and tack on the walls, old settles and pews, and a large inglenook fireplace with a roaring log fire. Adnams Bitter, Brandon Rusty Bucket, Green Jack Trawlerboys Best Bitter and Woodfordes Wherry on handpump, several wines by the glass and a dozen malt whiskies are served from the old oak-panelled counter, and there's a viewing panel showing the working cellar and its Roman floor. Steps take you up past an ancient partly knocked-through timbered wall into a carpeted gallery and there's a smart dining room, too. The big garden has plenty of seats, and the comfortable bedrooms are in a converted outbuilding; delicious breakfasts.

Good Pub Guide Food

Using produce from their own kitchen garden and their own eggs and other local supplies, the excellent food includes sandwiches, free-range pork terrine with apple, sultana and apricot chutney, honey and mustard home-roasted ham with fried duck eggs, venison burger with fennel mayonnaise, wild mushroom and goats cheese risotto with herb oil, gressingham duck breast with morello cherry jus, and line-caught wild bass with spring onion mash and sauce vierge.

We have just spent five great days at the Sibton White Horse.
We stayed on their CL caravan site behind the pub.Neil & Gill Mason have created a superb atmosphere at this establishment, they have found the perfect balance between "Old world" country pub and modern restaurant.
There are plenty of terrific beers to choose from including the monthly guest beer. The restaurant serves fabulous food & their fish & chips are a "must have". They have a comprehensive wine list which includes a very substantial Malbec.
We look forward to our next visit.

If you're spending a day out in Suffolk and are looking for a characterful country pub, this is the perfect place to stop for a pint. Tasty food and nice to find Ruddles on the list.

When you meet the neat, well organised friendly landlord you realise why the White Horse is allo neat and friendly. Well kept beer (including Adnams). Bedrooms are clean, light and often have a dressing room attached as well as shower. Food is carefully cooked and tasty- may include game pie. good fish at breakfast.
