The food is at best average in pub that lacks atmosphere. Very expensive for what is essentially pub grub. Not an inviting place - feels like the customer is something to be tolerated rather than truly welcomed.

My annual get together with the girls came round again last week and it was my turn to suggest the venue. After much research of the local area I discovered that the Temple Bar Inn in Ewyas Harold had been very recently refurbished and was regarded highly for food. So after a quick call to the Temple and then three much longer calls to my girls we booked a table for a Wednesday night.
I must admit that I had frequently the Temple Bar in the past and was slightly worried about whether the venue was suitable but as soon as we walked through the door my worries subsided. The place had been refurbished to a very high standard and everything was clean and pristine. After a quick natter over a glass of wine we moved from a comfortable seats at the bar into the restaurant.
The restaurant which was fully booked had an appeal which was very chic-european and after sampling another wine we all ordered something different off of the menu, as we always do, just so we could scrutinize and sample a bit of each others and I must admit that everything I tried was incredibly tasty. The price of the food was perhaps slightly higher than some other local places around the area but the ambiance and professionalism of the place meant that our get together was very special indeed. Hats off to the Temple Bar and I can't wait for next years get together when its Agnes turn to choose the venue.
