Good Pub Guide Recommended
Busy pub, seats overlooking inlet and visiting boats, thick-walled bars with log fires, west country beers, popular food, and friendly atmosphere
Our readers very much enjoy their visits to this well run and popular pub. There's a warm welcome to all from the friendly staff and both the beer and food are good. And of course the front terrace in fine weather is a huge bonus - you can sit at the octagonal wooden tables under parasols and look over the inlet, and visiting boats can tie up alongside; there are outdoor heaters for cooler evenings. Inside, it's attractively furnished and the two thick-walled bars have a happy mix of dining chairs and tables on the wooden floors, log fires, bookcases, dozens of local pictures and charts, newspapers and magazines to read, and a chatty atmosphere; board games, dominoes and cards. Dartmoor Jail Ale, St Austell Tribute and Summerskills Tamar on handpump, 25 malt whiskies and ten wines by the glass. Parking is restricted at high tide.Good Pub Guide Food
