Lucky Dip

Small gently civilised but relaxed hotel, traditional wood furnishings, seafaring paraphernalia and log fire in pubby bare-boards bar, comfortable more refined front bar with good soft furnishings, Goddards, Yates and a guest, good wine list inc some local ones, well presented generous pub food and more elaborate restaurant menu using produce from their farm; they may ask for a credit card if you run a tab, piped music, TV; children welcome, dogs in bar, sea glimpses from tables on tiny front terrace, nice bedrooms (some with sea views), open all day

Had dinner at the hotel a few weeks back and found it was fantastic! the prices were reasonable for the size of the portions, it was well presented and tasted fabulous. I had the pork tenderloin, whilst my wife had the sea bass. Totally unlike any pub experience as the food was restaurant quality. The atmosphere and friendlyness of the staff was a true breathe of fresh air. cant wait to return on our next visit.

We had lunch in the pump room bar. This room is fanatastic really
a nice atmosphere. I had a honey roast ham baguette with salad 6.50.
My wife had the better value crab with mayo 6.95. Her's was
better filled than mine. Both were on nice bread and served by
friendly staff. The coffee came in a largep ot
and was good value. We were paying for the place and it is nice
to have a meal in such surroundings.
