Fantastic portions for the sunday roasts with piles of lovely meat but shame about the random pickled beetroot on the plate and not the best selection of veggies. However, will be back !!
Great 13th century pub, great atmosphere and home cooked locally sourced food. The pub garden is to the front of the building. The information symbol on this site states "children allowed in children's garden" can be misleading. The garden to the rear is private though often filled with the happy voices of the publican's family .
I was disappointed with the choice on offer here. I am a veggie and the only option was cauliflower cheese, which is not really a main meal, but I went for it. When it came out, it was in a very small side dish on a large plate which was made to look full with a large chunk of bread and a salad. Really not worth £10 I'm afraid, even though it tasted ok. There were only about 6 other options on the menu for meat eaters as well. My friend had sausage and mash and said it was nice.
