Rashleigh, Polkerris, Cornwall, PL24 2TL – The Good Pub Guide

Good Pub Guide Recommended

Fine beach-side spot, heaters on sizeable sun terrace, several real ales, and bar food
There's no doubt that in fine weather the biggest draw to this bustling pub is its position next to a splendid beach with its restored jetty and views towards the far side of St Austell and Mevagissey bays. The big front terrace with its heaters and awning (handy for less clement weather) makes the most of this. But on duller and colder days you can be sure of a warm welcome inside and up to five real ales on handpump: Otter Bitter, Sharps Doom Bar, Timothy Taylors Landlord and a couple of guests like St Austell HSD and Skinners Betty Stogs. The bar is cosy and the front part has comfortably cushioned seats, several wines by the glass, farm cider and organic soft drinks. The more basic back area has local photographs on brown panelling and a winter log fire, and in the restaurant, every table has a sea view. There's plenty of parking either in the pub's own car park or the large village one. The local section of the Cornish Coast Path is renowned for its striking scenery.

Good Pub Guide Food

As well as sandwiches (the summer crab are popular), the choice of bar food might include tapas to share, steak in ale pie, chick pea, pepper and red onion curry, chicken caesar salad, and smoked haddock fishcakes.

Bar food times: 12 - 2, 6 - 9; cream teas and snacks during the afternoon

Visited the Rashleigh yesterday. An excellent pub, Good selection of well kept real ales (sadly no Skinners ales on yesterday) but excellent pint of Landlord,

Very good food roast gurnard with interesting flavourful sauce/salad. Excellent homemade treacle tart. Pleasant attentive service.

Next visit anticipated.

Lovely pub. Good food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Very child friendly and we were made to feel welcome for lunch / afternoon with 5 children between 4 and 7!
