Very good food. Just a bit disappointed that they don't have much of a selection of light snacks. We don't all want a full scale meal at lunchtime

The Plough never disappoints. For the quality, it has one of the best value menus in the area and the staff are friendly and attentive. Everything on the drinks menu is lovely, from the cask ales on handpump in the cosy bar, the interesting soft drinks including fresh orange juice and the Fentimans organic bottled range, to the high quality house champagne and an extensive wine list.

Their wine nights are highly entertaining; the one we attended was run by someone from one of the vineyards The Plough sources its wines from. The food menu complemented the wines we were tasting very well and there was a lovely conversational atmosphere generated.

In these "credit crunch" times, my personal opinion is that you should spend your hard-earned cash on the venues that are going to provide you with the best experience - the ones who obviously made an effort with every aspect of their offering from the well-trained staff, to the food, drink and general ambiance.
