More a restaurant than a pub these days. Sunday roast of dubious value at £9.95. Ate there recently on a Sunday and had to complain about close to raw green vegetables and soft,uncrispy roast potatoes. Poorly trained waitresses had not returned to the table to check if the food was OK, so it was by chance that I was able to catch the eye of the landlord to make a complaint. Responses of the landlord and then the chef were pompous in the extreme. I had no cause to complain simply because nobody else had that day. Whilst struggling with this fatuous logic, I had to listen to the chef claiming he hadn't had a single complaint about his food in 14 years - incredible !
The landlord initially refused any reduction off the bill after attempting to charge again for drinks already paid for. After further protest he grudgingly offered a £10 reduction off the bill for three meals.
If you're looking for a friendly, customer-focused establishment don't bother with The Peacock. Avoid.
