This traditional wood panelled country pub (Les Routiers Pub of the Year 2009) promises a night in the slow lane, with real ales from Essex breweries drawn by gravity directly from the barrel in the well stocked cellar.
The speciality of the house, the Essex Huffer (a large triangular bap generously filled with various local ingredients), is available every lunchtime and evening. In addition, our chef prepares a constantly changing menu comprising of old pub favourites and comtemporary British dishes.
In the summer months this can all be enjoyed from one of the two finely kept gardens, ideal for families and children to play in. The relaxed atmosphere and rural environment make a perfect spot to sit back and enjoy the simpler pleasures.
The pub is open Mon - Wed noon to 3pm and 5.30pm to midnight; and Thurs - Sun noon to midnight.
