Striking 17th-c coaching inn with handsome timbered cornerpiece, opened-up front lounge bar, lots of exposed beams and joists, main bar (behind on right) with open fire, two upstairs wknd dining rooms, good often interesting food, three changing regional ales and several wines by the glass, friendly accommodating staff; soft piped music; children welcome, pretty 14th-c church opposite, quiet village with surrounding walks, bedrooms, open all day

Lovely old inn and village.
staff very helpful and friendly, both when booking and ordering. Food very good. Venison first class. Would definitely re-visit.
