Convivial three-room early Victorian station bar, eight well kept changing ales such as Acorn, Anglo Dutch, Fernandes and Timothy Taylors, foreign bottled beers and farm ciders, bargain generous lunchtime food on scrubbed tables, popular pie night Tues, curry night Weds and steak night Thurs, good wknd breakfast too, friendly staff, daily papers, coal fire, lots of steam memorabilia inc paintings by local artists, impressive juke box, jazz nights; children in two end rooms, disabled access, open all day

No matter what time of day you visit this place is buzzing. Plenty of atmosphere and clientèle of all ages. The staff are efficent and cheery.

There's a large range of well kept real ales. When we last visited they had Revolution Mild which, is has to be said, was stunning. How someone can brew a beer at 3.3% with such body and flavour is beyond me.

This is an essential stop on the West Yorkshire real ale trail
