Welcome - Poor
Beer - Excellent
Dining Room - Soul less - so sit in the pub which is excellent
Food - main item excellent, poor quantities of potatoes and veg
Atmosphere - good
Service - variable
Really nice pub interior only let down by the dining room and some strange seating near the fire
Well worth a visit and the best pub in the area by a long way

Couldn't disagree less with newton_tony's comments of October last year. I have eaten here several times over the last few months and have found the new landlords to be welcoming and friendly. The food is exactly what you would like from a proper country pub (not a hyped up gastro pub) - decent quality ingredients and very good. Always found the dining room to be anything but soul'less with a fire in winter and plenty of regulars - always a sure sign that it is well thought of.
Would not hesitate to recommend The Swan as a proper country pub.

We have had two meals recently in The Swan - both excellent. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The pub has recently changed hands and the new owners are turning it around. They are very friendly and have moved to Wiltshire from Cumbria - I would thoroughly recommend The Swan as the food is the best around the area and excellent value. Lots of good luck to the new Landlord and his wife - we will certainly be going again.

We went to the Swan due to recommendations from friends. Unfortunately, we were VERY disappointed.

First impressions on arriving were not favourable and we probably should have left straight away. We ate in a cold and soulless dining room and after ordering, food was very slow coming.

When the food arrived the presentation was no less than embarrassing. Burgers with buns no doubt from a cash'n'carry and certainly not cheap at £10. Our other main courses were also poorly presented and very over priced at £15.

Suffice it to say, we won'y be going back and only hope we caught the Swan on a very poor night.
