Welcoming and relaxed pub, with well liked food and real ales
Good Pub Guide Recommended
You'll usually find a group of locals chatting at the bar in this small traditional village pub always a good sign and there's a welcome for all. The carpeted bar, with a relaxed atmosphere, has horsebrasses on black beams and paintings by local artists on the walls, and rambles around beyond a big stone fireplace to a snug room, behind which more candle-lit tables can be found. St Austell Proper Job, Sharps Doom Bar, Skinners Lushingtons and a guest ale such as Purple Moose Madogs Ale on handpump, as well as good wines by the glass and farm cider. There are picnic-sets in front and more seats in the garden, and the pub is surrounded by walks and cycle paths in attractive countryside.
