Village pub on Offa's Dyke Path with friendly licensees, simple stripped-stone slate-floor walkers' bar, beams hung with tankards and lanterns, piano, darts, carpeted lounge, open fires, two Golden Valley ales, basic bar food; no credit cards; children welcome, dogs in bar (and in bedrooms by arrangement), sheltered back garden, camping, open all day (may close if quiet but will reopen if you ring the bell)
