Red lion is closed for good it seems. My party arrived on sunday to be told that the owners had been evicted and locks changed. We had no phone call from them to tell us, and we were directed to another local pub in Welby village few miles down the road.Where we had a super sunday lunch.Thankfully they could just get us in after a short wait.
It appears that the Red Lion had no cellar cooling so no beer and issues with electrics, and kitchen being dirty,so to hear it is closed is probably a good thing for the public.

Freezing cold pub, scruffily written and very dull specials board. Not worth the drive.

I would just like to say a big thankyou to all at the Red Lion for making my 50th birthday so special. Your hospitality as always was fantastic, the food was simply sublime. Joan and I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, thanks again.
