Pineapple

We too were there on Mothering Sunday, and had booked a table in advance (but had to take 2:00pm as earlier slots were full). No real gripe with this as getting food in any decent pub on Mothering Sunday or Fathers Day is always a struggle unless you book early. Beer was London Pride, Black Sheep or Pedigree if I remember right. Food arrived pretty quickly - I had a hot roast beef sandwich absolutely packed with slices of beef, but could have been a little moister (maybe a splash of gravy!). Many people were having the Sunday roast which is served as well as sandwiches on Sundays, so the kitchen was pretty busy. I had no problems with the bar staff, but they were pretty stretched and doubling up as waiters. At the end of the day we got what we were expecting on one of the busiest days of the year, but would normally visit on a weekday.
The car park is small and tight, and though some people park on the road, the smarter option is to carry on another 100yds towards Dorney village, across the Jubilee River bridge, where there is an additional (free) public car park which may have space.

Had lunch there during a walk along the Thames.

It was Mothering Sunday so we expected it to be busy so got there early. All the inside
tables were booked. Before when this has been so we have asked and been allowed to use a table
before the person who had booked it turned up. There was no negotiation on this point today.
Both bar staff who we were served by were not at all friendly and they were not even busy.
I ordered a breakfast sandwich and cancelled the bacon as it was streaky. We had also said we
did not want egg - we should have gone the the sausage sandwich. When it arrived it was cold - not
what we expected. There egg in it and although we had asked for extra sausage because the egg and
bacon were to be removed it was not a well filled sandwich. A black coffee was served with the cup
half filled so we sent it back and it returned full. We might have been unlucky but this visit has put us
off a bit..

I have been to The Pineapple twice recently and can confirm the accuracy of the present Good Pub Guide entry. There's a friendly welcome by the South African manager [sorry, I don't know his name]. £6-99 seems a lot initally to pay for a sandwich but once you see the size of them and the accompanying soup / salad / chips you realise that you are getting good value. Range of beers includes London Pride and Landlord.
