Decidedly more restaurant than pub but does have a pubby corner serving local Cottage, farm cider and 16 wines by the glass, good imaginative food (not cheap) using local produce, efficient friendly service, cosy flagstoned inner area with modern prints, bookshelves, china and some sofas by big fireplace, compact eating area with candles on tables and more formal carpeted dining room; children welcome, dogs in bar, decked terrace in enclosed garden, car park exit has own traffic lights, bedrooms (no children), cl Sun evening, Mon, Tues lunchtime
