Small solidly built and recently refurbished hotel dating from the 17th c, interesting antique oak furniture and coal fire in civilised beamed and flagstoned bar with nice pictures, beers such as Black Sheep and Timothy Taylors, good coffee, helpful staff, good locally sourced food (inc meat from rare breeds) in bars and bistro, well priced Sun carvery (second helpings encouraged); attractive village, comfortable bedrooms, good breakfast choice, open all day till late
