Unchanging cosy old riverside pub in unusual street with lovely early 18th-c church, wide choice of enjoyable generous food all day, black beams, panelling, nautical bric-a-brac, high-backed settles and coal fires, good Thames views from upstairs restaurant (cl Sat lunchtime), Greene King ales, good coffee and good value wines, friendly service; piped music; children welcome, nice jetty/terrace over water, open all day

Lovely, characterful pub hidden away in Bermondsey alongside the Thames, with a fun outside jetty area for summer and a cosy fireplace for winter. Reasonable selection of beers, if could arguably do with an extra guest ale or two. Was very well regarded for its food and whilst the quality of food is still good (both in the bar area and in the upstairs restaurant) it has fallen a little from its former heights. Staff are obliging enough but a little reserved.
