Good Pub Guide Recommended
A stylish place to stay in wonderfully remote setting; no real ale but pubby feel to bar, and excellent, locally sourced food
Lovely country, warm welcome, gorgeous food .. we specially liked the bedrooms' enthused one reader of this upmarket, restauranty small inn on the Knapdale peninsula. Topped by its trademark pinky red corrugated iron roof, it's a simple low-slung whitewashed building, ready to batten down the hatches in winter but lovely when they put tables outside in summer. The small beamed dining bar, tastefully and simply furnished, is relaxed and warmly sociable, with a good log fire; piped music. There's no real ale, but they do Fyne bottled beers, have a selection of malt whiskies (with quite a few local ones) and a good wine list.Good Pub Guide Food
Thoughtfully prepared food from the delicious lunchtime or evening menus might include starters like butternut and lemon soup, Loch Fyne queenie scallops or potted crab, and main courses like monkfish fired with chorizo and cannelli beans, rib-eye steak with bloody mary butter and roasted red peppers, fresh-caught fish or fish pie, with puddings like chocolate crème brûlée, sticky toffee pudding or pear and frangipane tart, and a local cheese platter.
