Lucky Dip

Plush early 18th-c inn with relaxed atmosphere, neatly kept rooms with patterned carpets and log fires, food from pubby standards up inc signature roast duck and some interesting specials, Bowland Hen Harrier and guest such as Black Sheep, a dozen wines by the glass, good choice of malts; piped music; children welcome, chintzy bedrooms, not far from M6

Should be in the main guide ... again ! Very friendly inn, a little off the beaten track, but not that far from the M55 and M6. Child friendly, serving half portions, plus finding an ice cream ! Well kept Bowland Ales (£2.85 per pint).
Excellent fish - I had halibut. All food sourced locally. Only 'minor' downside is vegetables were on the well cooked side ! If you want to eat at peak times, probably best to book, as was very popular.
Looked to be caravan campsite in grounds. very nice garden - would be wonderful on a warm summer evening.
Recommended.
