The Stag and Hounds at Burrough on the Hill has just changed its name to 'Grants' and has been taken over by Baz Parrish who already ran his Parrish brewery from the site. The result is, (as I found out after a good healthy walk to the nearby Iron Age fort on top of the beautiful Burrough Hill) a cosy, newly but tastfully decorated old pub serving the full range of Parrish's ales, 3.9%,4.2%, 4.8% and 6%. The 6% is achieved by blending the 4.8% with a 12 or 13% from a separate tap at the bar. Then to top it all the lunchtime menu contained hot snacks at under a fiver. I had the lovely ham egg and chips. Fortunately our wives were on hand to drive us the ten miles back home.
