Nicely redone and friendly local, with tasty food and pleasant staff; well appointed bedrooms
Good Pub Guide Recommended
Our readers love staying in the comfortable and fair value bedrooms in this lively local. But then they also like popping in for a drink and a chat and having a particularly good meal in the incredibly popular restaurant too; it really is a smashing all-rounder. As well as a genuinely pubby bar, there's a cosy series of beamed rooms with distinctive old settles, Sharps Doom Bar and a couple of guest ales from the nearby Bluestone Brewery on handpump, as well as several malt whiskies, wines by the glass and Gwynt y Ddraig cider; background music, pool, juke box, darts, board games, dominoes and games machine. The dining room has elegant blond oak furniture, whitewashed walls and potted plants; service is efficient and friendly. There are tables outside at the front and in a side garden; good disabled access and facilities.
