Goats Head, Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire, WS15 3BP – The Good Pub Guide

Lucky Dip

Well run beamed and timbered village pub with friendly local atmosphere, Black Sheep, Marstons, Timothy Taylors and a guest (May beer festival), lots of wines by the glass, good home-made food (not Sun evening) served by attentive staff, opened-up cream-painted interior, unpretentious but comfortable, with coal fire in big inglenook, oak floors and furnishings that take in the odd traditional settle; juke box and TV; children and dogs welcome, teak furniture on sheltered lawn looking up to church tower, bedrooms, open all day

Fantastic six real ales with two continually changing. Abbott, Pedigree, St Austell Tribute and TT are regulars. Good menue with value meals at lunchtime. The only dissapointment is the lack of cobs / pork pie to compliment the excellently kept real ales!

Bar closed at lunchtime so you have to use the restaurant.

Well worth a visit though!

3 of us had lunch here on 02/07/2009.
It was a beautiful summer's day, so we ate at a comfortable table in the beer garden.
We each had a whole sole as the main course - large and well-cooked. This was followed by 2 portions of cheesecake and 1 apricot crumble and 3 coffees. With the meal we drank a bottle of excellent Pinot Grigio.
Altogether a most enjoyable experience in pleasant surroundings with good unhurried service and glorious weather.
