Cheerful father and son team at this characterful village pub, nice old traditional rooms, roaring fire, three well kept changing ales, but sadly no longer serving food; newspapers, darts and cribbage; children and dogs welcome, garden with nice views, closed lunchtimes Mon-Thurs, currently up for sale

Have learned from the pub's own website that they stopped serving food permanently on 8 November 2011. They remain open for drinks only. See: http://www.fivemilehouse.co.uk/

Superb food and beer as usual. Landlord should be nominated for ideal landlord award if there is one, he is pleasant, friendly and very welcoming. Cosy bar with roaring fire plus several intimate dining areas.
