A country pub offering quality local and Marston ales witht he finest pint of Pedigree in the land.
We strive on offering high quality, freshly produced hearty food and source all our ingredients from local farms and suppliers. Lunch is served Monday to Saturday, 12-2.30pm with cottage pie, stews, home made soups and sandwiches amongst many other dishes being offered. An A Lá Carte and specials menu is served Tuesday to Saturday, 6.30-8.30pm with the emphasis again on high quality filling meals. Sunday dinner is 12.30-pm when we offer a wide range of meals including a roast dinner.
Monday night is quiz night with free food for all entrants. Sunday night is poker night and we have a jazz night once a month aswell as folk sessions on a monthly basis also.

Four-square gritstone Marstons pub with their well kept ales, enjoyable reasonably priced hearty food inc warming casseroles and hotpots, friendly attentive service, L-shaped lounge bar, restaurant, pleasant relaxed atmosphere (can be quiet wkdy lunchtimes); children and dogs welcome, garden with play area, nice surroundings

Enjoyable pub - good selection of well kept ales, food is interesting and always freshly made often with local ingredients. They send some of their guest ale to a local bakers, who then use it to make bread for the pub! Nice outdoor seating area/sun trap.

Food mediocre.........not good value for money....but excellent service.
Wine by the glass too expensive.
But good choice of real ales.

Recently given a face lift, the pub now has an increased focus on Real Ales (4 on tap - including one straight from the barrel). High quality, but well priced, food available. Smart inside, but nicely informal. Plenty of outdoor seating. Dogs allowed.

Very pleasantly surprised by the food and choice of ales. I promised I would let others know so here I am fuflfilling my word. Excellent day had by all. We will be back often. Thanks to everyone at the Fishermans Rest.
