Fallow Deer

My wife.brother in law and I visited the Fallow deer Chapel en le frith on Christmas day 2011,we arrived gave our name and the managers wife pointed to our table,not a good start,the table setting was very poor,no table covering,weekly menu stuck in the middle of the table,the only festive feature was a red serviette beneath the cutlery and cheap crackers.
No festive music playing was noticable,only background music,the starters were uninteresting and bland,the main course of Turkey was dry,the gravy was beef gravy with lumps,had to ask for more,the Chrismas pudding I ordered had a large piece of sharp plasic from the container,we informed the waitress of this and no one bothered to give an explanation as to why this could have been served this way,I could have cholked on it ,we use the Fallow Deer often, that is why we treated ourselves to a meal on Chrismas Day,such a pity.a lot of money for a spoilt day.

What you'd expect from a chain pub, all the right responses from the staff but with no emotion. Hobgoblin on form. Food on the good side of average but I noted my three flavour icecream was missing a flavour, the space being filled with that awful squirty cream.
