Cheerful, unpretentious and cosy, front bar with old leather-seated settles and open fire, two small back rooms with Victorian fireplaces, well kept Robinsons ales, reliable pubby food; children welcome, garden with waterfall tumbling into fish pond crossed by japanese bridge, large pergola, play area on small tree-sheltered lawn; new licensee took over spring 2011

This is an excellent pub - new landlord started in April - excellent food under new chef. Jazz nights are great - every alternate Tuesday and other live musical events occasionally. Also, Quiz on the non-jazz Tuesdays. Well recommended.
