Lucky Dip

Charming local with three small unpretentious bars, huge supporting beam in each low ceiling, simple country furnishings on quarry tiles, cricketing pastels and bats, two log fires, well kept Harveys tapped from the cask, country wines, good coffee, tasty bar food (all day wknds and summer wkdys), old Sussex coin game -- toad in the hole; children in family room only, dogs welcome, delightful cottagey front garden with picnic-sets amongst small brick paths, more seats behind, Bloomsbury Group wall paintings in nearby church, good South Downs walks, open all day summer

Don't come expecting much of a warm welcome! And, rember if you do want a pudding you will need to go to the bar to order it as no one is going to come and take your order. And don't even think about asking a waitress if they could get you a beer, even if there is no more than half a dozen customers in the whole place. You guuessed it we would not return.
