Good Pub Guide Recommended
Well run dining establishment with focus on good imaginative food, good wines and attentive service
Busy eclectic décor, a little old here and a little new and friendly service, all make for a nice relaxing atmosphere. White liming on the servery, rough wall planking, and some white-painted chairs contrast effectively with good dark hardwood flooring, soft brown leather sofas, bar stools and deep armchairs with white cushions, and there are splashes of bright blue dotted around. Modern prints on cream walls, deeply coloured ceilings and handsome flower arrangements further. The carefully lit back part consists of an extensive but well divided and comfortable dining area, the central part of which is given an airy conservatory feel by its ceramic tile floor, light panelling and glazed pitched roof, with a step up either side to carpeted or bare-boards sections with attractive artwork on their soft canary walls; unobtrusive piped music and daily papers. They keep a good range of interesting wines by the glass, and the Adnams and Fullers London Pride on handpump are particularly enjoyed by readers. There are tables out on a sheltered deck.Good Pub Guide Food
