Lovely pub and fantastic atmosphere, the staff are always so welcoming and the food always faultless! We have been coming back regularly now for a few years and I am not sure why it has taken me so long to write a review!
We last visited just before Christmas 2011 and we were thrilled to get a table as knew they would be busy with Christmas party bookings, the service was still at its highest and we were made to feel just as important as the larger tables, the food was beautiful and the atmosphere so warm and festive, we had a lovely evening and already looking forward to our next visit.

We had dinner here last Sat. It was a great experience and it thoroughly deserves its main entry.
I enjoyed a nice pint of Wadsworth's 6X and they let my wife taste a pair of wines before she decided which to go for. On the table were olives/little toasted nibbles which is a nice touch. Wee ere then supplied some bread - two different types both very nice.
My wife had the warm bacon/chicken salad with a caesar salad dressing garlic croutons and fresh parmesan shavings 5.95. Very tasty.
I then had the home made burger in a ciabatta roll topped with caramelized red onion and cheddar cheese chunky chips and dressed house salad 10.50. There were also onion rings. Wonderful burger fantastic presentation.
My wife had the special of lamb shank which was very good nice side vegetables , only criticism was the mash sort of disappeared in the gravy.
They also catered for many diverse dietary requirements which I think is excellent. (not just vegetarians )
I had two scoops of Goddards ice cream @ 3.75 my wife had a lemon curd cheesecake with vanilla pod ice cream and blue berry coulis. 4.95. Excellent.
