I have been to this pub a couple of times now.
My friends and i go there on occasions mainly because the ale, in my humble opinion, is faultless.
Recently, however, i have eaten there twice. I went midweek with my gf and we sat in their secluded riverside garden, i had their steak and kidney pie which came with chips and vegetables and she had plaice fillet, salad and new potatoes. My pie was very good and pretty obviously homemade. The Plaice came pan fried which was refreshing from the usual battered form, on offer in other pubs. We both agreed it was very fresh and well cooked. Our food bill was only 20 quid which i thought was good value. I have since been there for sunday lunch with my mum, which was equally (if not better)as good. We both had their roast beef which came beautifully medium rare with all the trimmings. The gravy was definitely homemade and the roasties were crispy. It was overall just a very pleasant experience which i would recommend to my friends.
