Great pub that allowed a wet dog in and supplied a bowl of water. We ate and drank at the pub and I have to say the food is excellent (no long wait). We went to the pub at 7pm on Thursday evening and nothing was too much trouble for the staff including splitting out 1 dessert into 3 dishes, allowing me to try a cider before buying and generally providing a warm relaxing atmosphere.
I'd highly recommend this pub

Called in for a drink yesterday very nice well run pub offering 6 hand pulls real ale's and the food looked good.Large car park/Kids play area.Well worth a visit,

We went to the Horse and Jockey yesterday for lunch after organising a run around the area.
Steve the landlord was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for him. He opened the pub early so that we could use the toilets and pre-order our food before we went on our run.
The food was great and the Maltester Cheesecake was amazing but get there early on a Sunday to order your desserts as I had the last piece. The menu is varied and their specials change regularly. They were also very helpful in catering for one of our group who is vegetarian and gluten intolerant.
On both occasions the beer was very good and they have 3 guest ales on, great for real ale drinkers.
It's quite a large pub and has something for everyone, a large play area outside for the kids, a dining area, pool table and they also show LIVE football. A game was on whilst we were eating and because the football was on in another area of the pub we weren't disturbed by it.
A great pub on all levels, we'll definitely be back.
