Good Pub Guide Recommended

Open-plan bistro-style pub with inventive, upmarket food available all day, nice décor, wide drinks' choice This is a lively place run with verve by the enthusiastic and friendly licensee and staff. Decorated in this fine chain's usual successful style, its open-plan interior is cleverly laid out to create plenty of nice quiet corners. It has a mix of informal attractive country furnishings, turkey-style rugs on bare boards, deep red (some high) ceilings, a warming fire and plenty of homely close-hung pictures. Besides 20 wines by the glass, local apple juice, farm cider and around 70 whiskies, they've nine beers on handpump, with Facers Flintshire, Phoenix Brunning & Price Original and Purple Moose Snowdonia, alongside swiftly changing guests from brewers such as Greene King and Hobsons; board games. On warm days, the large terrace in front of the pub makes an idyllic place to sit out by the wooden tables - you get sweeping views of the Clwydian Hills. Theatr Clwyd is just across the road.
