Last Thursday my two friends and I visited this Brakspear's pub for lunch. The beer was OK but the food was excellent!! We all had the fish & chips and although a bit pricey, it was worth it. The satff were very efficient yet friendly. We all agreed it was worthy of a place in Lucky Dip, but not the main section.

Under new ownership
We popped in here during a walk around Ashley Hill. We had a nice welcome and
we ordered a BLT baguette and a side order of chips. The baguette was poor value one small slice of streaky bacon in each 1/2 which I told them was not impressive.
The prices of other things seem to have gone up too. Lets hope they take my feedback seriously as this pub is in a wonderful spot - possibly the most remote pub in Berkshire.

Visited The Dewdrop on a Wednesday lunchtime in March 2011 which is hidden away in quiet country lanes between Maidenhead and Henley in countryside popular for walking. Very friendly welcome by young barman who offered a sample of the Brakspears Special when I was undecided about what beer to have which was an excellent well kept beer. Menu offered plenty of choice from four Starters (between £4.50 and £5.50), five types of sandwiches all served with chips or salads (£6.50 to £7) and nine mains, including “specials”, (£8.75 to £11). We chose two of the “specials”, Penne pasta which was a vegetarian dish in a rich tomato sauce with a very slight hint of spice (chilli ?) and Steak and Guinness pie both of which were very tasty. Recommended.
