Unspoilt little pub kept unchanged thanks to its dedicated landlord; it’s peaceful and genuinely old-fashioned, with well kept beer

Fox & Hounds
Victorian local standing out for its excellent Mediterranean cooking; mostly evenings only, but some lunchtimes too

White Cross
Splendidly set Thames-side pub with paved waterside area; busy in fine weather, but comfortable in winter too – though watch out for the tides

They allow dogs inside the main area of the pub, and always have dog bowls outside on hot days for hot dogs.
