World Cup 2010 at Renaissance

The World Cup is in full swing and our pubs The Avalon, Abbeville and Stonhouse in Clapham and The Tommyfield in Kennington are all geared up for the biggest sporting event this country has seen in a long time.

We are all really excited about the footie, for us it’s a great opportunity to increase revenue and get new people into the pub. We are screening all the England matches, the quarter and semi-finals, play-offs and the final, as well as additional ones if people ask for them. We’ve got an Italian manager at The Avalon so they’ll definitely be showing all the Italy games there!

The atmosphere is going to be terrific and we’ve invested in additional HD plasma screens to ensure everyone who comes in gets a good view, whether they have reserved a table and are having a bite to eat during the game or simply enjoying a few beers at the bar. These include a colossal 96 inch screen in the main room at our newest pub The Tommyfield and an 88 inch projector at The Abbeville.

Larger groups can reserve an area or book one of our private rooms and bespoke menus can also be arranged featuring the very best in modern British food. We’ve got the stunning Blue Room for 20 at The Avalon, the Master Room at The Tommyfield for up to 40, or to really feel like you’re in sunny South Africa, fans can the courtyard at The Avalon and support our boys alongside 50 mates.

It’s important not to alienate regulars, so if footie is not their thing, they can escape to The Avalon’s south-facing garden. The Bolingbroke is also a soccer free zone and the perfect spot to enjoy the very best British food and drink in elegant surroundings.
