British Pie Week
British Pie Week (7th -13th March) is a fabulous time of year. Pies are one of the many things that make Great Britain GREAT and for this reason Renaissance Pubs celebrate Pie Week for a full fortnight.
We have been involved in Pie Week for four years now as it’s very much part of what we do. It fits in well with our ‘back-to-basics’ philosophy and doing simple things extremely well. Alongside fish and chips, homemade burgers and traditional cuts of beef, pies are a huge seller in all of our pubs so Pie Week is the best time to showcase what we do best at a fantastic price. Consequently we sell specially chosen pies with a pint for just £10, which represents a saving of £5. The promotion not only engages out regulars but the press attention attracts new customers too desperate to try the new pies on offer.
Our chefs change the pies daily from the traditional steak and ale (with dry-aged Herefordshire beef and Timothy Taylor's Landlord), to the innovative wild boar and chocolate; and cow pie, made with oxtail, ox tongue and tripe. All these pies can be washed down with our fine selection of British ales such as Sharp's Doom Bar from Cornwall and Battersea brewed Wandle Ale. Our staff has also been trained to match food with beer and will happily suggest which ale goes best with which pint.
