Proud of Pubs Week – the pubs we’re proud of
At BitterSweet Partnership, we work to change the image of beer and improve its relationship with women. In doing so, it’s important to look at all the factors involved in drinking beer – it’s not just the beer itself that’s a factor, it’s how, why and where you choose to drink it too. The pub plays a big part in this – so to celebrate Proud of Pubs Week, I’ve asked some of the BitterSweet team to nominate a favourite pub and tell us why:
Kate says... ‘I’ve always loved the Old Bookbinders in Oxford because it manages to get the balance right between being traditional yet still young at heart. The staff is friendly and there’s a great selection of ales – they also hold a yearly beer festival which is really popular!’
Carli says... ‘The Carrington Arms is a beautiful grade II listed pub set in the heart of Bedfordshire. The Carrington Arms has a great variety if local ales that are well worth trying. It is the perfect pub to go to for food as you make dinner your own by choosing the size of meat or seafood you’re served according to your appetite. The Carrington Arms is a truly British pub that serves freshly prepared ingredients from local suppliers, it is great for dinning or for just enjoying a beer in the garden.’
